1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create a Monbug account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Vendors additionally provide store name, description, payout banking details (handled via Stripe), and optional profile/cover images.
Transaction Information
When you make a purchase, we collect order details, shipping address (if applicable), and payment method information. Payment card data is processed directly by Stripe and never stored on Monbug servers.
Usage Information
We automatically collect information about how you use Monbug, including pages visited, products viewed, search queries, device type, browser, and IP address.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the Monbug marketplace and POS platform
- Process transactions and send related confirmations and receipts
- Connect buyers with vendors and facilitate communications
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
- Improve and personalize your experience on the platform
- Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates)
- Send optional marketing emails (you may opt out at any time)
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Vendor-Specific Data
Vendors have access to data related to their own store: order details, buyer contact information for fulfillment purposes, product analytics, and payout reports. Vendors may not use buyer data for any purpose outside of fulfilling orders placed through Monbug.
Vendor payout information (bank account, routing number) is handled exclusively by Stripe. Monbug stores only a Stripe Connect account ID — never raw banking credentials.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (such as tax records related to completed transactions).
Order records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial reporting requirements.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to certain types of processing, including marketing
- Restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data

8. Security
We take security seriously. Monbug uses industry-standard protections including:

- Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

9. Children's Privacy
Monbug is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

Monbug is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the platform from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
By using Monbug, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States. We take appropriate safeguards to protect transferred data in accordance with applicable laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending an email to the address associated with your account.
Continued use of Monbug after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
